How a Bookstore Meltdown Sparked a Picture Book
Years ago, while working at Indigo in Milton, Ontario, I witnessed a customer spiral into what can only be described as a full-blown meltdown over a display for Mark Manson’s bestseller, “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck”. She expressed many opinions, repeatedly returning to her outrage that this display was her child's first exposure to the "F WORD". I giggled to myself as I knew precisely where my children were first exposed!
The moment was so dramatic, so ridiculous, and so unintentionally funny, that it lit a spark in my writer’s brain:

And with that, I took my small spiral notebook out of my pocket and the first few lines of Mom Dropped The F Bomb fell out of my brain and onto the page.
